19.7.2010 GC1JFQB - Kureci Fofr Cache (ILHAN9, placed 28.11.2008 by ILHAN9 & Kajkulka)
20.7.2010 GC24N8F - Urbex CMK (wallson, placed 6.3.2010)
#750 12:57 - I went to this place on my holiday trip to Lithuania. After leaving Lodz and visiting dashpoint GDAJ-LYVU I eventually came here.
I like such places, abandoned buildings, once full of life and serving meaningful purposes. Equipped with a flashlight, pen and stamp I entered the object. While I walked thru decaying rooms, explored the graffitri on the walls and stepped the railles stairs, I suddenly heard another person moving thru rubbish on the opposite side of the building. I'm a big man, 194 cm/125 kg, but a bit fearful. I quickly left the house and carefully observed it from outside. And then, at the base of the left stairway I saw a man in dungarees.
Now, when I knew who it is, I stopped being afraid, approached him, greeted and tried to converse. But it wasn't easy - I don't know Polish and the man didn't understand neither Czech, English or Russian. He told me, the he works for a Russian company, which recently bought a place just aside the building. He told me, that the company was going to import "vengiel" from Russia. I didn't understand it, until the man showed a heap of black coal "vengiel" he said. "Uhlí" in Czech. The man was just curious, he wanted to know something about more about the empty building, so he came to look around. After a short time we parted and I returned to looking for the cache.
Eventually I have found it, as you already know. Thanks for the cache!

#751 14:38 - Another abandoned structure I visited this day thaks to geocaching. At first I tried to approache it from the opposite side of the brook. I could caom with car almost about 200 m from the cache, but the vegetaion was so thick, that I had to give up a try another way.
This time I came by garden colony. At first (second ) I tried (again) a wrong way. I came tu a meadow were nettles grew, I guessed. Th last time I found a path, which could be quite comfortable walked some at 40 m from the cache. But then I had to enter nettles again. The signal lead me directly to the bridge, then 6 m back, then 10 m at right angle, then... Then I just used my cachers instincts and shortly found the partially open box lying uncovered on mud. I gussed it could fall out from behind its root
shelter and only thanks to the nettle jungle and remotness of the place remained undiscovered by muggles.
Thaks for the cache!
21.7.2010 GC1MFZ5 - Mysterious bridge (kostasb, placed 8.2.2009)
#752 12:16 - My first day and first cache in Lithuania... Nice bridge and great pitty it's out of order. I hope, that the money will be found and the bridge will be reconstructed. It's good to have paths and footbridges reserved for pedstrians and/or bicyclist only, not shared with car traffic.
As I often mention in my logs, I like abandoned or just old technical buildings and structures. So I liked also this cache. Thaks!
21.7.2010 GC114VN - PodCacher TB Migration Home Hollow (ly2kw, placed 25.2.2007)
#753 15:33 - The banks of Neris are a nice place. So near to the city and so remote from civilization. There are a lots of paths crossing the woods with people walking or bathing on the tiny beaches. Luckily the spot with cache was unpeopled, so I could search for the cache undisturbed. But it's a pity, that people throw so many of rubbish here - greasy papers, empty bottles and chips bags.
Nevrtheless, thanks for the cache!
21.7.2010 GC16394 - VIP TB Hotel (ly2kw, placed 20.9.2007)
#754 16:26 - Easy cache by the forest path. Though the forest/park was quite frequented this hot summer day, no people were near this cache. The cache is nice and big, but there were no travelers inside. Never mind. Thanks!
21.7.2010 GC10Z4Z - Ciurlionio my crow (ly2kw, placed 14.2.2007)
#755 16:37 - I came here from the park, through the military graveyard. There I saw a group of young man about twenties, tall, short haired and with plastic beer bottles. They exactly fitted my stereotype of bored unemployed russian youths. Latter thru my visit in Lithuania I met similar groups several times again and, indeed, they mostly spoke russian. They always scared me a bit, I have to admit.
After short waiting until the street emptied from muggles I found the cache on the place where I expected it, to my great joy. Thanks for the cache!
21.7.2010 GC1R4AG - books.de (ly2kw, placed 9.5.2009)
#756 17:02 - It would be very easy cache not being for the car parking... Though it is not a big place, people were comming or leaving almost every minute. It took me 15 minutes or more to find a quiet moment and took the cache. Thanks!

21.7.2010 GC1Z4H6 - Literatu Wall (ly2kw, placed 25.9.2009)
#758 21:31 - Literatu Wall is definitely on of my favories places in Vilnius. I really enjoyed my visit to this open air gallery of small artworks, though the most of them was dedicated to writers I'd never heard before (my shame). But it was not easy to find the cache. A lot of people is watching the wall - actually the walls - but there is also a restaurant garden some ten meters only from the nano. You can't exercise a lot of your stealth skills here, you just have to hope nobody would notice your strange movements...
Thanks for your cache!
21.7.2010 GC10TAP - Vilnia Bend Micro (ly2kw, placed 6.2.2007)
#759 21:47 - There was quite a lot of people there, when I was looking for the cache. Obviously they returned from their late evening walks along the river, their children were running and jumping and near the street - exactly were the cache was hidden - they often stopped and waited for those who came more slowly. But eventually they left.
Thanks for the cache!
22.7.2010 GCWZMK - Story of oak-wood (Kibiras, placed 2.7.2006)
#760 12:27 - Another hot day in Lithuania...
I left Vilnius for Kernave hill fort and on the way tried to visit some oak-related caches. This one was the only one, where I succeeded. The whole site is fascinating, all these carved statues along the causeway. Well, I consider them a bit kitschy, but it's just my personal feeling. Nevertheless it was very unusual experience for me to met statues of ancient, pre-christian gods, with names so similar to their slavonic counterparts, eg. Perkunas - Perun. I really enjoyed walking on the wooden paths and meeting dragons, wood spirits and, of cource, the mentioned gods. The only imperfection I notice were the informational texts written almost exclusively in Lithuanian.
I appreciated finding the cache near the ancient sacrificial stone, the only authentic artificat - I guess - around. Aciu!
22.7.2010 GCXJJP - Hill-fort (samiras, placed 5.8.2006 by Rimas and Ausra)
#761 14:13 - I've already visited some hill forts, in Ireland, but these ones were definitely the youngest, the most recently used.
I came here on a very hot day after lunch in local pub/bar (I ate beatroot borcshch - very refreshing - and blines, flushing them by a glass of beer). The Sun burned so much, that I managed visit just the platforms on the edge of the village and two fort hills - the one with cache and the one opposite to it. The rest I just observed from a distance.

22.7.2010 GC138X7 - Trakai Castle (GeoSensors, placed 29.5.2007 by Alisa&KD)
#762 17:09 - The castle is magnificient, although it is just a reconstruction.
It was a very hot day, when I came here, so I welcomed a big cisterne selling "gira" from the tap. It was the first time I tasted it and - to be honest - I didn't like it much. But it was interesting... It reminded of the times when I had been a child and I had tasted pistachio ice scream for the first time. It had been so strange and distastefull. Brrr! But a week later I had begged my mom to buy me another one! And the same happened with gira. I especially like Smetoniška...
The tree is amusing, but very descriptive. I sat on the grass and had to wait some time until other visitors muggled out and then I took took the box at the first grab. I found there a very nice geocoin, but it was there just few hours, so I left it to enjoy its new hide.

22.7.2010 GC1XJC0 - Fire - Trakai (ly2kw, placed 21.8.2009)
#763 18:12 - Well, so I visited the castle, found the tree and tasted gira. Then I planned to hire a boat and visit at least one island cache nearby. But then a sudden thunder sounded from the southern sky. And then other and another. And darks approached from there... I lost my determination, dropped the water plan and slowly strolled back to my car, carefully observing the sky.
So I came to this cache, an easy one, which helped to improve my mood. Aciu už lobis!
22.7.2010 GC1ZF55 - Sidetracked - Senieji Trakai (ly2kw, placed 28.8.2009)
#764 18:46 - I found similarly placed cache some weeks ago in Písek, CZ (GC1HV5V, Czech only, sorry). But this time I was more afraid. You know, I was in foreign country, which was for decades part of police-state, I didn't know the local regulations, so I expected some railway official setting off the station building and crying something incomprehensible.
But everything went fine. Nobody noticed me, just a girl crossing tracks the forbidden way. Normal situation in normal country.

#765 18:57 - Nice and calm place. When I came at the beginning of an evening, there were a fistful of children, well, youths, chatting and laughing some 50 m away. But they had their own, youth, concerns. So nobody notice me taking the cache and logging. Aciu už lobis!

#766 20:53 - The Appendix of Lithuania! How many times I looked at it on Google Maps and Google Earth. Zoomed the views and dreamed about going there. And then, at the end of this June, I've decided - I would go there!
And so I was there. I passed military checkpoint and entered this mysterious piece of land. And the best waited for me at the very edge, in Norviliškis - the beautiful, recently reconstructed, country castle. Nearby church and remote cemetery only added to the melancholic mood of this place. I looked at the gravestones and was surprised by the frequency of Polish names. I looked throughout the doubled fence on the border, hoping to see some patrolmen, but the surroundings where completely deserted. I stayed here till the sunset, enjoying lonesome beauty of the site.

#767 22:10 - I wished to visit all the caches in the Appendix, but my "inability" to keep on schedule lead me here at the beginning of the night. I parked below, at the end of the dam and walked through the darkening forest to the cache. When I came there, it was almost dark, but thanks to my flashlight and good hint I found the cache shortly. The logbook was very very wet, when I put my stamp there, it blurred immediately.
So I was here, at the woods of remote Lithuania, surrounded by Belarus. I returned to my car imagining the wild ghosts of this ancient country pacing through the woods accompanied with yellow eyes of silent wolves... Aciu už lobis!

#768 16:14 - Nice hide! The place was quite busy, so it took me some time to approach it, but I got the box at the first grab. Putting it back was a lot easier. Pitty, that the shop closed at 4 p.m. - I hoped to look there, to buy some honey or - better - mead, if it would be sold there.

#771 20:52 - I planned to go up the hill by funicular, but I came a little late. So I had to go there by foot. Luckily the hills in Lithuania tend to be much lower then in my homeland (Moravia, Czech republic). The cache was well hidden, I liked it a lot. After I enjoyed view of the city below, I descended back and I met a man who told me, that he had locked the gate and I should wait about five minutes until he warns other tourists about the closing hour. Hmm...

24.7.2010 GC29EDK - Double Trouble (Oedama, placed 27.6.2010 by Oedama and Buffia)
#771 13:04 - For me, this cache was almost a triple trouble...
The first trouble is definitely sudoku (well, not so big one). The second, I thought at first, was the slope. Yeah, I came from the river banks... After some days in Lithuania I believed, there is no such thing as a "real" hill or slope in this country. Well, now I know it doesn't apply for the area between Lazdynai and Neris.
When I eventually found the cache at the presumably final location, I got the know, that the I was expected to visit another two location before I could open the fancy container. But... Since a long time ago I own a "digital" bicycle lock. I often forget the combination, but I can always open it.> You know.. How long could it take to check mere thousand combinations? Not very long, I can tell you.

#773 16:17 - I found the cache easily, but it surprised be, that it was in very "light" container - a plastic bag.
But the nearby place is interesting - I visited the monument of the center of Europe and liked it much. I sent SMS's to some friends and one of them asked me, if I could make a mark for him, so that he could find it, when he would come with his family. So I build a small stone tower on the pedestal of the starred column. Please, check it is in good condition, it could take several years before my friend's arrival.

#774 16:47 - An easy cache at the foot of the hill fort. Though I recommend to visit the hill, too. Walking its top, you can imagine the wooden walls of the vanished forts and, maybe, like me, you will dream about rebuilding it and become an small king of the hill.

#776 14:11 - In Kaunas I stayed in camping near the motorway bridge over Neris and I decided to go to the old town by foot. I knew its about five kilometers through panel suburbs, but I didn't mind - I like to see every parts of the cities. But at first I came to the Pedestrian bridge.
It was easy to find the cache, though I had to do it carefully, because there was a risk of dropping it down on the motorway. Shortly I could admire lots of padlocks on the rails - nice custom through-out all Lithuania. If I ever marry again, I'll try to transplant it to Czechia, too.

25.7.2010 GC28GPV - VII fort from outside. Light is not necessary:) (digit8640, placed 14.5.2010)
#777 15:11 - Interesting site. I came from north and the first think I saw was a low, very low, brick wall surrounding the water ditch of the fortress. It for sure had not been built to protect against falling down. Then I came to the deserted WWII monument. It reminded me about the cruelty the people are able to do to other humans. I know, it sounds pathetic, but thats true - even today you can meet a lot of, maybe the majority, of your compatriots who dislike others just only because of their ethnicity and different culture.
Well, back to geocaching. Since I came from the monument, I was on the top of the rampart. I didn't want to go down, because the day was hot and I'm so lazy, you know. But I couldn't find anything. So I reluctantly descended down, on the meadow. Dogs from the gardens barked at me and a gardening man watched me for a while. I looked back at the rampart and...

#778 16:37 - I like funiculars, mainly because only a little of them are new and the most are ancient technological remnants from XIX-th or at least XX-th century. I used its service for descending the hill. At first I talked to a man operating the device, asking him "Bilyeta, atchyu?" He then answered me something in Lithuanian and after I said "Sorry, I can't understand you.", he smiled and said "Down." I was alone in the cabine, so I could go up and down taking photos and enjoying the ride. Soon I was at the down station, paid 50 cents and went out.
Finding the cache was a little less easy. The outer container was somewhat broken, but I eventually managed to overcome it.

26.7.2010 GC1FQQG - IX FORT (lingus, placed 29.8.2008)
#78116:31 - Originally this should have to be just a short stop - to pick a cache, log the founding, hide it and go on. But coming near I learned, that I can visit the fortress. At first I entered the occupation museum. I hoped for more maps showing the details of both (or three?) occupations of Lithuania, but the exposition was composed more pathetically, showing samples of documents, prisoners' dresses, their personal belonging. Because I can understand Russian, I could learn some facts, but not too many.
Then I went to the fortress. The exposition here shows mostly the prison cells and again the prisoners' dresses, belonging, letters and so on. I don't want they wasn't interesting, but it was too many of then and it was tiresome. At the left part of the first floor I came to an wide empty corridor with a solitary cell and a heavy doors, through which a group of prisoners (about 60 people, if I remember well) escaped. I curiously touched the door and -- they opened! I entered a (quite simple) maze of other empty corridors, some narrow, some low, some sloping down or up. Sometimes I met barred openings or shooter post. After a while I remember, that visitors are allowed only to expositions. I also feared, that shortly I could forget the way back, so after some fifteen or twenty minutes i returned back.
Finding the cache was easy. At this time the rain stopped and the weather little improved. But the hot days were already off. Aciu už lobis!

#783 18:10 - I came to ferry a couple of minutes after the scheduled departure, but the crew was still repairing some engine below the deck. So not only me, but also an hurrying car, were allowed to travel to the opposite bank. I'd never traveled such river ferry before. The boat climbing horizontally along the cable was completely new experience, for me, though I knew that such devices had been in use at least from middle ages. The crew was friendly and the rotund man, who acted as commander of the ship, spoke Russian - the lingua franca of Lithuania, only a little of people spoke English there. I asked him, when they were going to return. "We just take that tractor and will go back," he said (in Russian). "How many time do you need?", asked me then. "I don't know, ten, maybe fifteen minutes," I replied. "It's ok, we can wait."
Just after landing on the left bank of Nemunas I started southward, lead by ma GPSr to the stripe of bushes. I soon found [see hint>, logged my visit and hurried to the ferry. I was the only one, who hurried. The tractor slowly drove onto the ferry and crewmen waited with moorings and gangplank for me to return. We set off, I paid 1 Lita to commander, who smiled at me that I paid for each voyage separately and shortly I was back in Vilkija, with my car and on the road to Baltic Sea.

27.7.2010 GC12CVE - The Curonian Spit (Fisler, placed 23.4.2007)
#784 15:30 - I've seen dunes in the Netherlands, before visiting Lithuania. Those are long, rolling, but never higher then twenty meters. The dunes in Neringa are different. Higher. High. Massive bodies of sand approaching villages and forcing people to move. Visiting this site was like visiting a desert (I've seen a real desert ). Sand was swallowing the causeway and form vast valley without any plants. Or not? ... I found one flower bravely growing amidst the silicon grains...

27.7.2010 GC16RMH - Final Boss: The Escape (BullweenBleens, placed 6.10.2007 by Bullween Bleens)
#785 17:13 - Second cache on by bicycle trip thru Curonian Spit. Oh, what a hill! After visiting the Netherlands last year, I had not expected such slopes on here. A because I'm not a big sportsman, I had to push my bicycle up the slope. If I were a child, I'd enjoyed my visit more, but it was interesting either. Driving along witches and dwarfs I soon reached the Devil's Gate. Finding the cache was easy, though not straightforward, the Witch Hill is another of these places, where following the arrow means going in spiral... Aciu už lobis!
27.7.2010 GC1CDCW - Vecekrugas dune (moteo, placed 18.5.2008)
#786 19:41 - Ho, ho! The real hill in Lithuania! Visible slopes, a summit towering above the surrounding landscape, like in my homeland. Oh... What did you say? No.. It's a dune! I can't believe! In colloquial Czech we'd say "To je duna jak' prase!" (1). Magnificent and so neat, symmetric. It's a nice view at it, as it rises up from the grass plain below, a real mountain, here.

(1) I.e. "It's a dune (as big) as a pig!" - don't ask me why "a pig", there are bigger animals, you know, it's just a saying... Though, you can say also "...jak' kráva", ie. "...as a cow", but "prase" is more common, I'd say.
27.7.2010 GC1TYD6 - Benas (ly2kw, placed 18.6.2009)
#787 20:11 - Never heard about Benas before, as you probably never heard about Czech bards as well. But he looks like a good chap. Aciu už lobis!
27.7.2010 GC1CFRP - Nida Lighthouse (BullweenBleens, placed 10.8.2008 by Bullween Bleens)
#788 22:06 - When I came back to Nida, I returned my bicycle to rental service, took a good supper (cepelini) and then strolled thru the village. And suddenly I saw a man on a Segway! I looked around and near the harbour there wer a group of young people and the standing Segways. I approached them, asked if they were renting the vehicles, got assured that it can carry me (125 kg) and that it can climb up to the lighthouse.
And than I was cruising thru the streets trying to find the right way there. Sure, I'd got a map, but it's a big difference between walking, when you can stop easily anytime, and riding the Segway, which technically can stop too, but reacts to you slight movements, bending, inclining, ... Eventually I turned into the right alley, passed thru parking and climbed up, up the way to my destination.

27.7.2010 GC1X2Y8 - Lucky700 (RamasN, placed 9.8.2009 by Ramunas Navalinskas)
#789 23:10 - I walked the ways around the cache the same day morning. But going here at night was something different. The display of GPSr blinding me, so the paths were just lighter corridors between scrubs. Using flashlight made the orientation even worse, so I switched it off and used it only for the final finding. Aciu už lobis!
27.7.2010 GCX6NA - Nida cache (Peteris, placed 17.7.2006 by Peteris, Liva)
#790 23:31 - I visited Parnidžiu Kopa in the morning, but I forgot (oh, oh, oh) my GPSr at the camping below. So I returned here after my bicycle trip, in the night. I expected the site completely deserted, empty of people. But somebody parked their camper at the parking on the top of the hill. They walked with dog(s?), opened the doors and strolled around. Hmm...
But they didn't go far. When I passed them a went among the dunes and shrubs, I was alone, as I had expected. I found the cache (a bit scratchy hide, I guess), set on the sand and looked over the dark lagoon for some time. Nice experience.

28.7.2010 GC1CDDE - Juodkrante lighthouse (moteo, placed 17.5.2008)
#791 14:58 - Thanks for a fine forest walk. I enjoyed not only cache, but also the explanation boards (which were also in English, if I remember well - quite rare in Lithuania). As the most of other cachers I tried to climb the tower too, but ended where the maintainers wanted us to end. Aciu už lobis!
28.7.2010 GC16KRA - Head (Lordas, placed 7.10.2007)
#792 15:49 - It wasn't easy to find this cache. GPSr pointed either at the memorial boards or into the middle of the paved square. After several long minutes of looking for crevices and loose tiles I stopped it and tried to depend on my cacher's instincts. I looked around, looking for some one's, two's, three's and -- voila! -- I found it. Aciu už lobis!
28.7.2010 GC1VTW9 - Sea Museum (Gofy, placed 12.7.2009 by Goophy)
#793 18:41 - I was a bit afraid while looking for this cache. I balanced at the edge of rotting waterfront and expected to fall me through any time. But, as many times before. So I forget the coordinates and look for the cache by instinct, again (second time this day). And about ten meters from the place where I'd spent some 15 minutes before, was the hide. It was high time - the sky was getting darker and the first drops of rain were already smashing the water surface.

29.7.2010 GC1KDBJ - Pape Lighthouse (Peteris, placed 2.1.2009 by Peteris, Liva, Zais, Shulcs)
#794 11:54 - After night rain the day was quite warm (actually, I swam in sea about an hour before my visit). The object hiding the cache is quite interesting, or, better might have an interesting past. Today it's not too attractive, especially from inside. But never mind, I've looked for caches at worse places. I'm just curious what it is, or what it was used for - it doesn't look like something suitable for living... Paldies par slepni!
29.7.2010 GC1KBWE - The Wind Up Bird (Peteris, placed 1.1.2009 by Peteris, Liva, Zais, Shulcs)
#795 12:24 - Wonderful place! But a little bit dangerous. The wooden causeway was quite a lot slippery after the night rain. Several times I almost slipped. ma way to watch tower reminded me of the famous home video of a wild boar who accidentally went onto the ice. I felt just liked this poor animal trying to keep my legs one along another and making to longest very short steps possible.
However once I reached the tower, everything was better. I climbed up, searched the platform, understood the hint and climbed again. For a while I looked over the marshes, but the mist lied over it yet, so I could see only little.

29.7.2010 GC28J1N - The bridge of Crowriver (bumbiery, placed 14.5.2010)
#796 13:13 - I'd expected it to be an easy drive in cache. Ho, ho! I drove the road, GPSr show 200 m, 100 m, 50, 10 m -- now I was coming very slowly -- and I saw nothing... Then 20 m, 50 m, 90 m (the opposite direction). I got out of the car and walked along the shoulder. Again, nothing. So, at an arbitrary place, I entered the forest and soon found the railway embankment. I followed it and eventually found the bridge. Well hidden! Better than the cache, indeed! This year's vegetation growth is unprecedented, I believe.

29.7.2010 GC1KBV7 - The Radar (Peteris, placed 1.1.2009 by Peteris, Liva, Zais, Shulcs)
#797 13:59 - I had expected th radar to be some "classical" ovoid parabola mounted on "typical" khaki-green vehicle and standing somewhere at the edge of a cliff. So, at first, I was a bit (lot?) disappointed. But it was before I entered the trench area. I could imagined poor soviet "boytsi" digging them with field shovels, sitting in them in cape waiting for NATO invasion, while the rain streamed their wet bodies. Brrr. Paldies par slepni!
29.7.2010 GCXVBM - Guard Tower (Peteris, placed 17.8.2006 by Peteris & Liva)
#798 14:22 - The most adventurous cache I've ever conquered! When I came here the yesterday rain was already forgotten and the sun shyly shone. The view from the top was marvelous and the sea so inviting, that I couldn't resist and took the second bath this day. Paldies par slepni!
29.7.2010 GC1RDAK - Pusenu kapa (realrolis, placed 16.5.2009 by Realrolis, Rihards Š., Ramsiks)
#799 15:54 - Pusenu kapa and its sandy cliffs is beautiful place. I enjoyed not only finding the cache, but walking on paths, sitting on fallen trees or (not fallen) benches and looking at the distance. Paldies par slepni!
29.7.2010 GC1AY58 - Between borders (blackpanda, placed 5.4.2008 by Blackpanda & Karlitis)
#800 17:13 - The border area always attracted me. To stay on the edge of one jurisdiction, where one set of rules is valid, and looking just few meters away, where the rules can be completely different. So I couldn't miss this cache! I hoped to see both Latvian and Lithuanian border poles, but, pity, only the first one was there. Never mind, I enjoyed it as well, in spite of the rain. Paldies par slepni!
30.7.2010 GC17CYJ - Soldier Cemetery (ignspuma, placed 14.11.2007)
#801 11:50 - On my last day in Lithuania I visited this, not too nice, cache. Maybe it had been placed before before some windstorm or forest works after which a heaps of fallen trees remained. I had to bypass them and struggle through their branches. But ones I got through, I was in quite nice, normal forest. Aciu už lobis!

#802 13:59 - I've found the cache without any major troubles. Then I visited the shopping center, admired its aquarium, but bought nothing. It was my last in Lithuania and I wanted to buy some pyragai to let my relatives taste them. But - to my great surprise - I couldn't find any here! Ever before during my stay in the country I had found pyragai in any grocery shop I visited. Hmm, maybe I didn't look for them thoroughly enough.

31.7.2010 GC2510Q - Drygaly (emkape, placed 14.3.2010)
#804 01:42 - I was on my way home from Lithuania and I decided - not too rationally - to go without sleeping. About one past midnight I came to Warszawa and started a small cache hunt. This one was my first catch!
Maybe it is an easy cache. Maybe in daylight. But looking for it in the night just with flashlight made it harder to find. I spent here half an hour or so. I browsed thru previous logs several times and eventually, I found it.

31.7.2010 GC2APE7 - Aleja Lipowa (emkape, placed 1.7.2010)

31.7.2010 GC13VZW - Pretty locomotive (Johnny224, placed 23.6.2007)
#806 02:20 - I found the cache in the deep night. Because using my flashlight could attract undesirable attention, I had to use mostly my hands. And because I had not the illustrative photo with me, I know now the locomotive's bumper very intimately. Dzieki za kesz!
31.7.2010 GC25182 - WuKaDka (aletheia2, placed 14.3.2010)
#807 03:25 - A bit adrenaline cache hunt. A lonesome man at the periphery of unknown large city, nobody's knowing he's there. Dark streets and even darker deserted grounds. The dogs are barking, at distance... at first, but then closer and closer. The man ascends wooden staircase and suddenly dark shadows move through the devastated grass below. The man freezes.
Suddenly discharge lights blaze up from the low building nearby and a man with cigarette goes out. He cannot see the man on stairs. And while he blinks at the lit up darkness, the shadows silently crawl away.

Oh, how many copper-plate or plywood deers, how many steel plate lanterns, how many crown-cap flowers and figures, how many of such ingenious artifacts I've seen during my childhood! If I manage to find some of them, or pictures of them, I'll share with you, in exchange.
