[FOUND] GC2KYNK - #13 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1349 13:27 - The easiest of all the caches in the series, a drive in one. Though one of the last, I found it first of all, as it was along the road I came here. Thanks!

[FOUND] GC2KYN2 - #01 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1350 15:26 - So, I was finally on the path to canyon. It took some time to get "familiar" with Portuguese style of tourist path marking - it differs from country to country and sometimes its a bit confusing, you know. Before I learnes, that white and red lines stand for "no, not this way", I did several wrong turns a walked several wrong ways. :) Thanks for the cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYN3 - #02 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1351 15:40 - Another one. This time near some thorny plants, if I remember well. Thanks for the cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYN4 - #03 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1352 16:41 - The trail already had entered the cannyon and the most beautiful part of the trail had started. I remember, that I took my backpack down, put it on a stone and then looked for the cache. After a minute or so I read the hint, looked around and found the box just behind my backpack!

Between #2 and #3 I met a group of Scouts. Well, I met them several times. At firts they were marching opposite my direction. But somewhere here, near the Stage 1 of Estrela do Sicó, I met them again. This time they (maybe they leader?) helped me with translation of liting into English. But, I'm talking about an other cache. So, let's go on! Thanks for the cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYN6 - #04 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1353 16:51 - Thanks for another cache in this beautiful valley!

[FOUND] GC2KYN8 - #05 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1354 17:06 - Yeah, it was raining again. Until now the weather was fine - the rainy time I spent snoozing in my (rented) car. Now not only the rain, but also bolts and thunders came. As I forget my raincoat in Coimbra, I walked on protected only by my light umbrella. Thanks for the cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYNA - #06 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1355 17:21 - Yeah, I can remember well this one. It was raing for some time, the soil was already muddy and slippy and I had to put my umbrella down, because I needed both my hands for retrieving this cache. v Thanks!

[FOUND] GC2KYNB - #07 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1356 17:29 - Another one found in the rain. Several minutes ago I met the Scouts again, now they were marching (again) the opposite direction, definitely running from the rain. Thanks!

[FOUND] GC2KYNC - #08 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1357 18:17 - The most terrible stage. There were a lot of stones here, on both sides of the way. And a lot of red slimy mud, too. I spent here about an hour. The rain was stopping and starting again and I was examining the stones all around. I knew, that I have to find all the caches on the trail, if I want to find the bonus one - because I knew, that I cöuldn't fing the stages #14 and #15. But this one began to look like an absolute failure... Eventually I decided to move one of the rock piles a meter aside and... Yes! Not under "one" but under several tens of stones was the cache! Maybe somebody hadn't understand the hint. Maybe it had been a malevolent act. But most probably some unhappy cachers had made the same decision as I did, but instead of founding the cache buried it beneth a heap of stones. :(

I followed the hint when hiding the container. :)

Thanks for the cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYND - #09 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1358 18:27 - In easy one, again. Thanks, thanks, thanks! :)

[FOUND] GC2KYNE - #10 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1359 18:41 - An easy one, too, but this time near a village. The rain just stopped and local muggles came out from their homes. :) But they were determined to go ... somewhere where they wanted to go ... and didn't payed me too much attention. After a while I was alone here, again, and could retrieve the container. Thanks!

[FOUND] GC2KYNG - #11 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1360 18:52 - I felt faint hearted here, again! There was so many crevices and so mayn rocks around. And it was raining again. But it took only some minutes and I found the right one. Ufff! :) Thanks!

[FOUND] GC2KYNH - #12 Vale dos Poios a Estrela (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1361 19:10 - Or, maybe it was here? A lot of rocks, a lot of crevices? Maybe, possible. Nevertheless, this one was the last of the series I needed to calculate the bonus coordinates. Oh, what a joy, what a happiness! Thank you for your caches!

[FOUND] GCM2DA - Estrela do Sicó [Pombal] (Baunilha & Chocolate, placed 14.11.2004)

#1362 19:47 - Finding the Stage 1 box was a real challenge! Not only there were a lot of holes, but there were also several old olive trees and both side of the valley could be considered "right" ("right, dfown the stream" or "right, the direction you come from the parking"?). I checked them all, excluding the right one...

I yes, I was decided to give up this cache and returning to path I checked the least possible place, the "almost" impossible one, I'd omitted so far. Just for sure... and found the container! Wow!

The way for the final was a challenge, too. The day was rainy, the rocks slippy. I weighed about 125 kg and was realy afraid if I could manage the way back - it's always easier to go up, then down, isn't it? But to give up twelve meters before the finish? SO I tunnelked thru the soaked bushes and shortly I stood in a nice cave with a really beautiful view down the slope.

Thanks a lot for your cache!

[FOUND] GC2KYNQ - #16 Vale dos Poios a Estrela - Bónus Cache (Paulo_Domingues, placed 8.1.2011)

#1363 20:18 - And another reward. Having make the thirteen stages of Vale dos Poios a Estrela series I could look and find its bonus cache. Very nice hidden and unexpectedly large one. Thanks a lot!

[FOUND] GC23X40 - Labirinto de Pedro e Ines (The_GeoGang, placed 12.2.2010)

#1364 21:39 - One of the nicest, clever and most playful caches I've ever found. Simple in design, smartly using the artifact. I've enjoyd it a lot, pattering around the statues in the dark of night and lights of the illumination. Thanks, thanks! :)

[FOUND] GC16V0G - Portas de Sao Tiago (lestro, placed 20.10.2007)

#1365 23:07 - On my final night in Coimbra, before going to the bed, I went for this recently reenabled cache. Located in a nice place, on the Coimbra's "Main Street" full of peoply (mostly the muggles :)) also at this nightly time. I had to pretend shoe-maintenance, an activity necessary usually during the daylight. But the rhytm of life is different here, in southern countries, than in the cold middle of the continent.

So, thanks for the cache and farewell, Coimbra!
